2009 Scout Group

2009 Scout Leaders

Welcome to the Roxby Downs Scout Group homepage.

Our scout group reformed in 2006 and is the largest remote group in the state.  We are located 600kms north of Adelaide
in South Australia.  We have an enthusiastic group consisting of a Joey Mob for children aged between 6 and 8 years of age;
a Cub Pack aged between 8 and 10 and Scouts aged 10 to 14.

Our leaders are dedicated to providing the best programs for our community youth.  Their aim is to enhance our young people
in a variety of challenges that in turn will develop personal growth both physically and intellectually and encourage leadership
skills which in turn will enhance their own self esteem.

As a group we promote and encourage involvement in activities within the local community, we regularly attend, Clean up
Australia Day  (annually). Our group holds extremely successful Bottle Drives each school term.  We also attend our
communities Anzac Day and Remembrance Day services.  With these alone, we hope we are creating awareness to the wider community and the environment.

We are always hoping that more parents will join us in becoming youth leaders and parent assistance leaders, as without your
help, we would not be the thriving group that we are today.  We are truly thankful to our current leaders and parent committee members for their interest and dedication to our group.
It can both be challenging and rewarding.

We would like to thank all our sponsors listed.  Their support is invaluable to our groups success and helps us purchase
equipment to keep our programs action packed, ensuring that our youth are learning new life skills and that they are having fun along the way.
