Joeys Update – Term 2 2008
The Joeys have been very busy during term 2, concentrating of completing the
environment challenge badge and starting the Adventure challenge badge.
Starting with a very good turn out to both the dawn service and the parade on
Anzac day many joeys earned their “Their service our heritage” special events
badge and also covered what Anzac day is for at our first meeting for the term.

Roxby Downs Joey Mob
We learned about air pollution, native animals and got to grow some plants as
part of our environment challenge badge. We also got to make and race paper
helicopters and balloon rockets which were cool. We welcomed 10 new joeys to the
mob (welcome to Keenan, Jonty, Clinton, Kane, Chloe, Odette, Tom D, Thomas B,
Blake and Miki) and farewelled 7 joeys who are linking up to Cubs (Matilda,
Kiahna, Troy, Corey, Todd, Nathan and Isaac)
The highlight of the term was our trip to Lake Mary. We spent a cool Saturday
out at the lake where we got to tie knots, set up tents, use a compass while
going on a short hike and documenting what we have found in the environment. We
also enjoyed a great BBQ lunch. Thanks to all the mums and dads that came out to
enjoy the day with us.
